Manager, IT Audit

Element Fleet Management is seeking a Manager, IT Audit to join the Internal Audit department. Element?s Internal Audit department assists Element management and the Board of Directors including the Audit Committee in accomplishing their objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal control. Element is expanding its Internal Audit team.? We are seeking a Manager, IT Audit to contribute to this mission through the completion of independent assessments and advisory projects for key processes and controls across the organization. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in dynamic business environment and to experience variety of assignments including audits of business processes outside of the IT function.? There will be opportunities for progression with Internal Audit and in other areas of the business. This position will be based in our Sparks, MD office.

Reporting to the VP Internal Audit, you will be responsible for leading audits in information technology across the Element organization, and lead or participate in operational audits of other business processes outside of IT.? The expected mix of work is 60%-70% IT audit and 30-40% operational audit.? ?

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Part of the leadership team that assesses risk and develops the annual internal audit plan

  • Effectively manage and execute audit activities across the organization. Lead and supervise audit teams responsible for completion of larger audit projects.

  • Lead preparation of risk assessments, audit plan programs, working papers and internal audit reports

  • Assist in development of audit committee and executive leadership presentations

  • Supervise audit staff

  • Assist with the development of internal audit policies and procedures

  • Deliver timely high-quality audit reports

  • Participate in major business initiatives and advise/assist the business on change initiatives.

  • Collaborate with management in the development of effective action plans in response to audit findings

  • Monitoring, reporting and validation of management action plans in response to audits


  • BS/BA Degree in Finance or IT

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive internal audit, external audit and/or SOC reporting experience

  • CISA, CISSP or similar certification preferred

  • Minimum 2 years? experience in a manager position.

  • Candidates should have an interest in leading a mix of IT, financial and/or operational audit.

  • Experience developing internal audit plans and interacting with management to develop practical value-added business solutions that help to improve governance, risk management and internal control.

  • Strong understanding of risk-based audit methodology and accepted risk and control frameworks

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
