We are seeking a Service Specialist in Sparks Glencoe, MD

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, qualify close automation related sales opportunities in various vertical markets.
  • Analyze market conditions, develop an annual business plan and coordinate its implementation with the local technical, sales and management team
  • Define and grow new customers and markets for emerging automation product technologies.
  • Identify customer needs, propose solutions and close orders for assigned automation products.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Responsible for developing and implementing the Servicesportion of the distributor s business plan in conjunction with the Rockwell Automation Services team and distributor management. Responsible for achieving the Servicessales goals identified in the planning process.
  • Presentation skills for both group and individual situations at all levels of customer organization (high-level management, Engineering, Purchasing).
  • Ability to identify customer needs, propose solutions and close orders. Able to identify and affect customer internal support processes which affect purchasing decisions.
  • Ability to promote the value-add of the assigned products in competitive situations.
  • Effective listening, communication, negotiation and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to transform product and service sales opportunities into system sales opportunities when appropriate
  • Strong arbitration skills to effectively listen, communicate and gain consensus.
  • Leadership Skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and conduct training workshops and technical sales seminars.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A four-year engineering or technical degree or appropriate experience, Electrical preferred, Mechanical accepted
  • Ability to identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications.
  • Ability to manage a project including pull-through business.
  • Valid driver's license for Region of business operation with a good driving record.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
