Job Description
The Staff Quality Engineer I (Supplier Management) shall provide quality oversight for supplier-related elements and activities in Quality Systems to include new supplier qualification/approval, ongoing supplier management, supplier CAPAs, auditor training, risk management of Finish Goods, supplier auditing and customer complaints and Quality Notifications. Directly accountable for multiple projects within department or has accountability for programs across functions and plants.
Conceptualizes, prioritizes and schedules project deliverables. Determines feasibility of project features, deliverables and resource availability to recommend viable options. Leads continuous improvement activities for the DS Quality System.
Position will provide support to the Supplier Quality Management Program for the business. Responsible for monitoring Supplier Quality and working closely with the Supplier on a variety of activities. Responsible for reviewing Supplier Corrective Action. Support and Lead Supplier Quality audits, oversee Incoming Inspection of products , Supplier CAPAs, risk management, customer complaint handling, and QM Module in SAP.
Responsible for: Supplier Quality Management program and Supplier Audits.
Responsible for communicating and working with Suppliers in regards to Quality issues.
Collects, interprets and analyzes data and presents to others either orally or in writing.
Participate on Supplier Improvement project teams.
Responsible for Incoming Inspection for OEM (Finish Goods) products in the plant.
Assist in Internal audits and ISO/FDA audits.
Responsible for SAP updates for the Quality Module (QM Views, inspection plans, Quality info records).
Responsible for revising and creating Buy Specifications.
Acts independently, consults with supervisor on unusual situations.
Work closely with Purchasing on Supplier related activity.
Must have highly developed computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledgeable of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2003 and 21 CFR Part 820.
Problem solving abilities a plus. Able to perform root cause analysis.
Six Sigma / Lean and Statistics background a plus
Must be organized and be able to implement programs and projects.
Ability to communicate and work with all levels of Plant, Division and Supplier Personnel.
Experience and expertise with quality data analysis and statistics (SPC, Pareto charts, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated capability of working on multiple projects at one time.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Ability to lead without authority
Experience in transactional six-sigma will be an advantage
Four year Bachelor's degree plus 7-8 years of quality engineering experience required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
