Job Description
The Scientist II ? Bioreactor Systems applies scientific principles to the performance of laboratory tests associated with the design and development of new cell culture media and supplement formulations at bench scale from multi-well plates through bioreactor formats. The Scientist II will participate on R&D teams to design and execute studies in the areas of new product development and media design services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide bench scale bioreactor/fermentation expertise, including set up, operation, and maintenance
Use and apply technical standards, principles, and techniques to problem solving and execution of scientific studies with limited supervision.
Work closely with R&D associates in technology and product development projects.
Design and execute experimentation with limited supervision.
Execute and improve existing protocols and develops new protocols and methods as required.
Independently analyze data, draw conclusions, and propose next steps.
Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Work effectively within a team structure to achieve project goals.
Capable of identifying problems and proposing potential solutions.
Maintain and grow technical skills and knowledge through scientific literature, state of the art technologies, theories and principles within scientific discipline.
Present results to others, either orally or in writing.
Represent R&D through communication to internal teams and provide technical support to other functions as needed.
Represent R&D and BDAB via industry conference presentations and interact with customers as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related field. A post graduate degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Experience in mammalian cell culture (CHO, hybridoma, BHK, etc) and aseptic technique is required.
Minimum of 2 years' academic and/or industry experience with bench scale bioreactor operation.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team based work environment is required.
Familiarity with spreadsheets, database programs, and statistical analysis software tools is required.
Familiarity with ambr microbioreactor, perfusion, and/or microcarrier systems is a plus.
Experience in media and supplement design and development is preferred.
Experience in biostatistical design (DOE) is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
