Director of Ministry Initiatives
The MsgrO'Dwyer Retreat House located in Sparks, Maryland seeks dynamic qualified candidates for the newly created position of Director of Ministry InitiativesThis new role will report to the Director of the Retreat HouseThis role will primarily function as a leader of newly launched Adventure Catechesis activities, which will focus on outdoor, spiritually guided retreat activities on the newly constructed ropes course at the Retreat HouseIn addition, this role will be tasked with launching a missionary program based out of the MsgrO'Dwyer Retreat HouseThis role will require significant ministry experience, as well as experience managing employeesJob
Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and manage outdoor programming activities Develop unique programming specific to Catholic catechetical teaching and relate it to newly constructed outdoor high-ropes and low-ropes coursesSchedule groups and facilitate ropes course activitiesPartner with parishes and schools to lead outdoor retreats in conjunction with outdoor activitiesDevelop and manage Light Brightly Visible Missionary Program Missionary program will:
Initially include 4-6 people who will function as retreat leaders on-campus and off the campus of the O'Dwyer Retreat HouseRequire supervision of missionariesLead the planning of retreatsConduct in-depth meetings with local stakeholders to determine ministry needsRecruit missionariesRetreat Group Interaction Ensure that all needs of retreat groups are met through doing the following tasks directly and/or by creating systems for the missionary team to execute the following tasksCoordinate group bookingsGreet groups and check-in with group leaders periodicallyMake updates to the website and social media platformsProactively reach out to existing and former groups to solicit repeat business
Qualifications:
Must be practicing CatholicMust have extensive retreat leadership and planning experienceMust have experience building and maintaining a catechetical programMust be willing to directly manage outdoor adventure activitiesMust have staff management experienceMust have excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills Recommended Skills Business Development Marketing Business Planning Value (Economy) Strategic Planning Relationship Building Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
