Summary:
The Bid Writer is responsible for preparing persuasive and winning bids and proposals for the organization.
This position requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of the SERVPRO Team Wall's services to potential clients.
This role will also be responsible for maintaining key certifications, accreditations, and program compliance while also seeking out additional opportunities for certifications/accreditations that could benefit SERVPRO Team Wall's success in the government/private sector contract space.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills will be needed to succeed in this role, as well as knowledge of SERVPRO Team Wall's production and administrative operations.
Plays a crucial role in maximizing the organization's chances of winning competitive bids and securing valuable contracts.
Responsibilities Research and Analysis:
Conducting thorough research is a crucial responsibility of the Bid Writer.
They need to analyze the client's industry, competitors, and market trends to create tailored and competitive proposals.
Research may also involve studying previous RFPs, case studies, and industry reports to gather relevant insights and incorporate them into the proposal.
Bid Identification:
Should be constantly searching for open procurement opportunities.
Many RFP's can and will be found via companies, municipalities, local, state, federal government, school districts, universities, web sites.
Additionally, all public bids are required to be announced via newspaper web sites.
Utilization of procurement sites (like Omnia) and searching for other platforms that can assist with bid notification.
There should be a daily regimen of scouting for new bid opportunities along with tracking.
Proposal Writing:
Craft well-written, persuasive, and tailored proposals that clearly articulate the organization's services, capabilities, and value proposition to prospective clients.
Content Development:
Create and maintain a repository of standardized content, including case studies, success stories, and testimonials, to be used in bid responses.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and subject matter experts, to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy and consistency in bid responses.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure bid submissions comply with client requirements, guidelines, and deadlines.
Perform thorough reviews and proofreading to maintain high-quality standards.
Value Proposition Development:
Develop persuasive messaging and value propositions that differentiate the organization's services from competitors and resonate with client needs.
Bid Strategy and Pricing:
Collaborate with the sales team and senior production management to develop bid strategies and pricing structures that align with the organization's goals and maximize the chance of winning.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commuinications, or a related field.
Relevant certifications or training in bid writing or proposal development are advantageous.
Several years of experience in bid writing or proposal development, preferably in the service industry.
Demonstrated success in winning bids and securing new business.
Excellent writing skills.
Strong research and analytical skills to gather and analyze information, understand client requirements, and identify key selling points for bid responses.
Attention to detail.
Industry knowledge preferred (restoration construction; property damage mitigation).
Time management.
Persuasion and presentation skills.
Adaptable to changing bid requirements, client expectations, and industry dynamics to deliver winning bids.
